Road bike
Suitable for Sport and Elite level riders
8 Day Tour: 5 days riding, 2 days transfer, and 1 rest day
The name says it all, big distances further into the countryside than our Classic Cape Rides tour. This tour is aimed at riders who are here to do serious mileage.
Day 1: Arrive/Transfer and Bike Build
If time permits, we can do a short ride to test your bike and sample what’s to come.
Overnight in Stellenbosch
Day 2: Bainskloof (140km, 1300m elevation)
We start the day with some easy rolling climbs to warm up our legs. After making our way through Wellington we head up the historic Bainskloof Pass. Fortunately, what goes up must come down!
Overnight in the Nuy Valley
Day 3: Breede Valley (105km, 1050m elevation)
Today is one of those days when you’ll remember why you enjoy cycling, with the rolling hills and stunning vineyard vistas.
Overnight in Swellendam
Day 4: Route 62 (132km, 1500m elevation)
A fast approximately 30 km to warm up our legs before we hit the first climb of the day—a long gradual climb up the Tradouw Valley with scenery that will take your breath away. This is followed by another climb to test our legs before we hit a stunning rolling road all the way into Robertson.
Overnight in Hermanus
Day 5: Rest Day

Day 6: Stellenbosch via The Coastal Route (112km, 1000m elevation)
Today’s route is a personal favourite. Most of our ride today has amazing sea views on our left and great mountain views on the right.
Overnight in Stellenbosch
Day 7: Three Passes (85km, 1400m elevation)
This classic route is as scenic as it gets. As the route name implies, there is some good climbing and lots of fresh country air. An awesome ride to finish the tour.
